This website

The Condiscere informational site does not include analytics, advertising, tracking pixels, external fonts, or client-side scripts. If you email the public contact address, your email provider and ours will process the message and its addressing information.

Open Video Quiz

Student activity

To join a live quiz, a student provides a display name and room code. Open Video Quiz records that display name, join time, answers or unanswered questions, and calculated individual and class results for the session. A student account is not required.

Teacher account and content

The teacher uses a password-protected account. The service stores a salted password verifier rather than the password itself, along with server-side teacher sessions. It also stores quizzes uploaded by the teacher and session reports containing student display names, responses, and results.

Browser storage

A student may choose to remember their display name in that browser. This option is off by default. When selected, the name is saved in local storage on the device; room codes, answers, results, and teacher credentials are not saved there by this feature. Clearing site data or turning the option off removes the remembered name.

Retention

Open Video Quiz is configured for session records and results to be retained for up to 180 days so teachers can review and export them. Live operational backups may follow a separate limited lifecycle. A teacher can also remove saved quiz files from the app.

How information is used

Quiz information is used to run classroom sessions, show students their private individual results, and provide teachers with class results and downloadable reports. Condiscere does not use this information for advertising and does not sell it.

Service providers and links

Hosting, security, and network providers may process ordinary connection information needed to deliver and protect the services. Open Video Quiz embeds YouTube videos, so using that feature can connect the teacher’s browser to YouTube under YouTube’s own policies. Links to other sites are governed by those sites’ practices.
